Episode Overview
Episode 7 shifts the focus from comedy to character growth. Instead of concerts or idol activities, the story explores what happens when Utage unexpectedly spends a day with Tamon outside of work.
Although they are together in a casual setting, Tamon cannot stop acting like an idol. This makes Utage realize how deeply he hides his true personality.
The Unexpected Meeting
On her day off, Utage plans to enjoy normal fan activities. By complete coincidence, she bumps into Tamon while he is also out on his day off.
Both are surprised.
Normally, idols avoid being seen casually with fans, but because they already know each other’s secret lives, Tamon decides to spend time with her.
This creates several funny and heartwarming moments.
Tamon Cannot Stop Being an Idol
One of the episode’s biggest themes is that Tamon never relaxes.
Even during his private time he:
- smiles perfectly,
- gives fan-service poses,
- acts charming,
- tries to look cool,
- keeps his “perfect idol” image alive.
Instead of simply enjoying the day, he keeps performing.
Utage Understands the Problem
Unlike ordinary fans, Utage knows Tamon’s real personality.
She realizes:
- he isn’t pretending because he enjoys it,
- he believes fans only love the perfect version of him,
- he has extremely low self-esteem.
Seeing him constantly perform makes her sad instead of happy.
She wants him to understand that fans admire him because of the effort he puts in—not because he must hide his real self.
The Meaning Behind “Fan Service”
Episode 7 asks an interesting question:
Can an idol ever stop being an idol?
Tamon feels responsible for always making fans happy.
Even while buying food or walking through town, he worries about how fans see him.
The episode suggests that fame can make people forget how to simply be themselves.
Utage’s Decision
Utage decides she wants Tamon to recognize his own worth.
She believes he underestimates how much fans genuinely respect him.
Rather than praising him endlessly, she tries to help him gain confidence in himself.
This marks another step in their growing emotional bond.
Keito’s Confrontation
The tone changes when Utage later visits Tamon’s apartment for her housekeeping job.
There she meets Keito, the leader of F/ACE.
Keito bluntly tells her:
“Please don’t treat Tamon so lightly!”
He believes Utage has become too close to Tamon and worries that the relationship could damage both Tamon’s emotions and the group’s reputation.
Why Keito Acts This Way
Keito isn’t simply being rude.
From his perspective:
- idols must maintain strict boundaries,
- emotions can become dangerous,
- fans should remain fans,
- Tamon’s fragile personality needs protection.
He sees Utage as someone who may unintentionally influence Tamon’s career.
This creates one of the series’ biggest conflicts.
Character Development
Tamon Fukuhara
Episode 7 shows that Tamon is slowly becoming more comfortable around Utage, but he still struggles with insecurity.
He has not yet learned to separate his public image from his private life.
Utage Kinoshita
Utage matures significantly in this episode.
Instead of acting only as an excited fan, she begins supporting Tamon emotionally.
She understands that encouragement sometimes means helping someone believe in themselves.
Keito
Keito becomes more than a strict leader.
His actions show that he genuinely cares about Tamon and wants to protect both him and F/ACE, even if his methods seem harsh.
