Beginning of the Episode
Hakkai leaves home with the determination to kill Taiju.
At the same time, Taiju calmly heads toward the church to pray alone, showing how fearless and confident he is. This creates tension because viewers know a confrontation is coming.
Meanwhile, Chifuyu remembers his past with Keisuke Baji.
This flashback is important because it shows:
- Chifuyu’s loyalty
- Why he respects Baji so much
- Why he now trusts Takemichi
The flashback adds emotional depth before the violent events later in the episode.
Kisaki’s “Plan”
Takemichi’s group had a strategy:
- Kisaki and the others would stop Taiju outside the church
- Takemichi would go inside and stop Hakkai from killing him
But the plan immediately fails.
Taiju enters the church completely unharmed.
At that moment, Takemichi realizes something terrifying:
Kisaki betrayed them.
This is a huge moment because it proves Kisaki is manipulating events again from the shadows.
Hakkai Attacks Taiju
Hakkai suddenly rushes at Taiju with a knife.
But Taiju easily stops him.
This scene shows the massive difference in strength and confidence between the brothers. Taiju even mocks Hakkai, saying he should attack from behind if he really wants to kill someone.
Taiju then grabs Hakkai by the throat and overpowers him completely.
This moment destroys the image Hakkai tried to create as a fearless fighter.
Takemichi Tries to Protect Hakkai
Takemichi jumps in to save Hakkai even though he knows he cannot beat Taiju.
Taiju brutally punches and beats Takemichi.
This is one of Takemichi’s defining traits throughout the series:
- He is physically weak
- But emotionally stubborn
- He never gives up protecting others
Even while being beaten, Takemichi keeps shouting that Taiju abuses Yuzuha Shiba and that Hakkai wants to stop him.
The Biggest Twist — Yuzuha Stabs Taiju
Suddenly, Yuzuha appears from behind and stabs Taiju.
This is the shocking twist of the episode.
Until now, Takemichi believed Hakkai would become a murderer in the future.
But now he realizes:
It may actually have been Yuzuha who killed Taiju in the original timeline.
This completely changes Takemichi’s understanding of the future.
