Mikey’s Arrival and Emotional State
One of the biggest questions in this episode is:
“Why is Mikey smiling so calmly after losing people like Baji?”
Earlier in the series, many characters believed Mikey was mentally breaking after the death of Keisuke Baji. Even Kisaki hinted that Mikey had become emotionally unstable.
But this episode reveals the truth.
Mikey explains that he carries the memories of Baji and his older brother Shinichiro inside his heart. He rides Shinichiro’s bike and keeps Baji’s charm with him because they give him emotional strength.
This moment is extremely important because it shows:
- Mikey is emotionally wounded
- But he refuses to become weak
- His friends are the source of his power
Instead of being consumed by grief, he transforms grief into motivation.
That is why many fans consider this one of Mikey’s best scenes in the anime.
Mikey vs Taiju Shiba
The main fight of the episode is:
Manjiro Sano vs Taiju Shiba
Taiju is the terrifying leader of the Black Dragon gang. Throughout the arc, he is shown as:
- Physically monstrous
- Violent
- Controlling
- Feared by everyone
Even after fighting multiple opponents, Taiju still believes he can crush Mikey.
But Mikey defeats him with incredible speed and power.
The shocking part is how effortless Mikey makes it look.
This scene reminds viewers why Mikey is considered almost unbeatable in the Tokyo Revengers world.
However, the fight is not just about strength.
It represents two different philosophies:
| Mikey | Taiju |
|---|---|
| Protects friends | Rules through fear |
| Values bonds | Values dominance |
| Builds family | Creates trauma |
Mikey says Taiju can never “create a new era” because he has no heart.
That line is the true message of the episode.
Draken’s Hidden Victory
While Mikey defeats Taiju inside the church, another important event happens outside.
Ken Ryuguji (Draken) defeats the 100 Black Dragon members waiting outside.
This moment is important because it shows:
- Toman’s strongest members trust each other completely
- Draken is just as terrifying as Mikey in battle
- Black Dragon loses both physically and mentally
When Koko discovers all the Black Dragon fighters defeated, the gang’s morale completely collapses.
Takemichi’s Role
Even though Takemichi is not the strongest fighter, this episode proves why he is emotionally important to Toman.
Takemichi:
- refuses to give up
- protects Hakkai and Yuzuha
- inspires others through determination
- changes the future through courage
Without Takemichi:
- Hakkai would have remained trapped in fear
- Yuzuha would have suffered alone
- Mikey may never have arrived in time
Takemichi’s true strength is changing people emotionally.
That is why many characters slowly begin respecting him.
