What Happens in Episode 15
After the events of Episode 14, the Cleaners are captured and dragged into dangerous Raider territory. The atmosphere becomes much darker because the Raiders are not simply enemies — they are people who reject the current system entirely and believe destruction is the only way to change the world.
At the center of the episode is Rudo, who begins facing a difficult question:
Should the corrupt world above be destroyed completely, or can it still be changed?
This is where the Raider leader Zodyl becomes important. Instead of immediately killing Rudo, Zodyl tries to manipulate him emotionally. He understands Rudo’s hatred toward the Sphere and uses that anger to tempt him toward the Raiders’ side.
Rudo’s Internal Conflict
One of the strongest parts of Episode 15 is the psychological pressure on Rudo.
Until now, Rudo’s goal was simple:
- survive,
- become stronger,
- return to the Sphere,
- and get revenge.
But Zodyl challenges this mindset.
He tells Rudo that:
- the Sphere is rotten,
- the rich will never change,
- and the Cleaners are only treating symptoms instead of fixing the real problem.
This conversation shakes Rudo because deep down, he already hates the system that threw him away like trash.
The episode carefully shows Rudo struggling between:
- rage, and
- hope.
That emotional tension becomes the heart of the episode.
Zanka vs Jabber
Another major highlight is the brutal fight between Zanka and Jabber.
Fans loved this battle because:
- Jabber fights like a complete maniac,
- the animation becomes more chaotic and energetic,
- and Zanka is pushed beyond his limits.
The fight reveals an important detail about Vital Instruments:
- some users can unlock stronger or evolved forms.
This shocks Zanka because he realizes he may not fully understand his own abilities yet. Reddit discussions especially praised this moment because it made the power system feel deeper and more dangerous.
Jabber also serves as a mirror opposite to Zanka:
- Zanka fights with discipline,
- Jabber fights for excitement and destruction.
That contrast represents the larger ideological battle between Cleaners and Raiders.
Themes in the Episode
1. Trash and Human Value
A major theme in Gachiakuta is:
society throws away both objects and people.
Episode 15 expands this idea by showing how different groups respond to being “discarded.”
- The Cleaners try to protect people.
- The Raiders embrace hatred and chaos.
Rudo is trapped between these two paths.
2. Anger vs Purpose
The episode asks:
Is anger enough to change the world?
Zodyl believes destruction is the answer.
The Cleaners believe protection is the answer.
Rudo still hasn’t decided.
That uncertainty makes Episode 15 important for his character development.
Animation and Direction
Studio Bones received a lot of praise for this episode because:
- the fight choreography feels fast and raw,
- facial expressions are extremely emotional,
- and the darker lighting creates tension throughout the episode.
Many fans considered Episodes 15–22 the strongest stretch of the season because the story becomes more intense and emotionally layered.
