1. Toman’s New Year Meeting
The episode begins with the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman) gathering after defeating the Black Dragon gang. Everyone expects things to finally calm down.
Draken announces the results of the battle and explains what happened during Christmas Night. This scene is important because it shows how much Takemichi changed the future compared to previous timelines.
Hakkai’s Confession
Hakkai stands in front of the gang and admits the truth:
- He lied about killing Taiju.
- Takemichi was the real hero.
- He had been too scared to protect Yuzuha himself.
This moment is emotional because Hakkai finally stops hiding behind lies. Earlier in the season, he looked strong, but internally he was terrified of his brother Taiju.
Instead of insulting him, Toman forgives him. That forgiveness shows one of the biggest themes in the series: true strength comes from protecting others, not pretending to be strong.
2. The Black Dragon Joins Toman
One of the biggest shocks in the episode is when Koko and Inupi appear at the meeting.
After Taiju steps down, they become leaders of the 11th Generation Black Dragon. But instead of remaining enemies, they join Toman.
This is a dangerous development because:
- Koko is extremely intelligent and obsessed with money.
- Inupi still deeply respects the original Black Dragon ideals.
- Their loyalty is uncertain.
Takemichi notices that the future is changing again in unexpected ways. Even though Taiju was defeated, the influence of Black Dragon did not disappear—it simply merged into Toman.
3. Mikey’s Unexpected Decision
Mikey then makes a surprising announcement:
He promotes Takemichi to First Division Captain.
This is huge because Takemichi started as the weakest member in the gang. He couldn’t fight well, but he repeatedly risked his life to save others.
Mikey sees something special in him:
- courage,
- loyalty,
- and the ability to change people emotionally.
Mikey compares Takemichi to his older brother Shinichiro, who also wasn’t physically strong but inspired others naturally.
This is one of the most important moments in Takemichi’s growth as a character.
4. Takemichi Returns to the Future
Believing he finally saved everyone, Takemichi shakes Naoto’s hand and returns to the future timeline.
At first, things seem perfect:
- He is no longer in prison.
- His life appears stable.
- The terrible future may have been erased.
For a moment, Takemichi feels hope.
But then the episode suddenly becomes dark again.
5. The Funeral Scene — The Biggest Twist
Takemichi arrives at a funeral and slowly realizes something horrifying:
The funeral is for Mitsuya.
This cliffhanger completely changes the mood of the episode.
Mitsuya was one of the kindest and most balanced members of Toman:
- he protected Hakkai and Yuzuha,
- cared for his sisters,
- and often acted like the emotional heart of the gang.
Seeing him dead proves something terrifying:
Even though Takemichi saved Hakkai and defeated Taiju, the future is still corrupted.
This means the real problem was never completely solved.
6. Hidden Meaning of the Episode
This episode quietly reveals several deeper ideas:
Takemichi Changed Events — But Not the Core Darkness
He saved people physically, but Toman itself is still moving toward a dark future.
Mikey Is Slowly Becoming Isolated
Even during happy scenes, Mikey feels emotionally distant. The story hints that something inside him is breaking.
Kisaki’s Influence Still Exists
Even though Kisaki was exposed earlier, his schemes continue affecting the future somehow.
The episode tells viewers:
“Winning one battle does not mean the war is over.”
