Beginning of the Episode – Takemichi Returns to the Past
After the shocking ending of Episode 12, Takemichi travels back to the past once again. In the future timeline, he saw that Manjiro Sano (Mikey) became completely broken and killed many former Toman members before asking Takemichi to stop him. That scene affected Takemichi deeply.
Now back in the past, Takemichi realizes something important:
- Saving only Hinata Tachibana is not enough anymore.
- He must also save Mikey and the entire Tokyo Manji Gang from falling apart.
This is the moment where Takemichi’s goal becomes much bigger than before.
Takemichi Training in the Rain
One emotional scene shows Takemichi punching tires and training alone in the rain. This symbolizes his frustration and weakness.
For most of the anime, Takemichi survives because of determination, not strength. But after seeing the dark future, he finally understands:
“I can’t protect anyone if I stay weak.”
The rain represents his sadness and guilt. He feels responsible because no matter how many timelines he changes, tragedy still happens.
This scene also shows character growth:
- Earlier Takemichi cried and depended on others.
- Now he wants to become someone people can rely on.
Chifuyu Understands Takemichi Again
Chifuyu Matsuno quickly notices Takemichi is acting differently and realizes he has returned from the future again.
Their friendship is one of the best parts of the episode.
Takemichi tells Chifuyu everything:
- Mikey’s dark future
- Toman becoming corrupted
- The deaths and betrayals
- Kisaki’s influence
Chifuyu immediately supports him without hesitation. This shows how loyal Chifuyu is. Unlike others, he trusts Takemichi completely even when the story sounds impossible.
Their bond feels emotional because Chifuyu becomes Takemichi’s true partner after Keisuke Baji died.
Kisaki Returns
One of the biggest moments is the return of Tetta Kisaki.
Even after all the previous conflicts, Kisaki is still connected to the darkness surrounding Toman. His appearance reminds viewers that:
- The real enemy has not disappeared.
- Takemichi’s fight is far from over.
Kisaki’s calm personality makes him dangerous. Unlike other gang members who fight physically, Kisaki manipulates people psychologically.
The episode strongly hints that future disasters are still connected to him.
Introduction of Tenjiku Arc
Near the end, the anime introduces new threats connected to the gang Tenjiku.
Important characters connected to this arc begin appearing, especially:
- Izana Kurokawa
- Members of Yokohama Tenjiku
This setup is important because the Tenjiku Arc becomes one of the darkest and biggest conflicts in the series.
The atmosphere changes completely:
- The Christmas conflict is over.
- A much larger war is coming.
Emotional Meaning of the Episode
This episode is less about fighting and more about emotional development.
